Autobiography

I, who was born lifeless on March 3, 1968, on the eve of Eid al-Adha, came to my senses with the thermal shock treatment caused by the midwife putting me in hot and cold water and started crying. My mother, who was with me at that time, was happy to see me cry for the first and last time in her life. I now remember the following from things I did when I was very young:

*they made me drink water with a teaspoon,

*I was interested in eating soil when I was little,

*I broke an egg by hitting it against the wall,

*I question where I come from,

*I ran away from my father to avoid shaving,

*The eye of a rooster was blinded because of the stone I threw at it, but my prayers with a pure heart opened its eyes again…

Of course, when I grew up, these naiveties started to disappear. School life put me in a different psychology, like everyone else. I was a bad student until the 3rd grade at Turkey Izmir Bayraklı Piyale Primary School. Then suddenly I started to get better. My performance gradually improved. I can say that I was a good student at Bayraklı secondary school and high school. Somehow I got into Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. I lived a dynamic life in Istanbul for 4 years. During the midterm exams in Istanbul, I memorized the song “Let’s end this ordeal” with my friends. When I came to Izmir from Istanbul, I felt like I came to a village.

I started my master’s degree at Dokuz Eylul University in 1990. I became a Research Assistant at the same place in 1991. I completed my MSc in 1994. After completing my doctorate in 1999, I joined the military as an assistant professor. I passed the Associate Professor exam in 2003. I was appointed to the position of Professor in 2009.

Since I liked being in a deserted environment, alone with nature, more than burning in the crowds on the beaches, I used to go to my favorite village in the summer (I haven’t been there for 5-6 years). Reading books is my greatest pleasure. I mostly read intellectual books and books about personal development. I like meatballs, manti, Iskender, water pastry, etc. the most. Losing weight is a great desire of mine. For some reason, this desire has not left me for years. I like my job. It gives me great pleasure to share what I know, to do research, and to find something useful. I wish you to love your profession. Because working 8 hours a day at a job you don’t like means spending the remaining third of your life in trouble. We also sleep at least 6 hours. Think about the rest. We shouldn’t just think about money. If a person were just a corpse, maybe only money would satisfy him. I think if the heart and soul are not satisfied, they cannot be happy. I wish all my students success in their lives.
